Released in the early 1970s during a rise in “living apart together” relationships, De la Parra’s film explores a tumultuous couple, Frank and Eva. Frank seeks constant flings, while Eva desires commitment and family. Initially deemed too explicit, the film reflects changing societal norms and relationship models.
